To ensure the vehicle most suited to your requirements it is best to book in advance to ensure availability.
Upon booking you will be advised on the documentation you need to provide us.
We require:
• Payment by credit or debit card – STRICTLY NO CASH OR CHEQUES.
• Photo card licenses must be produced WITH the paper counterpart.
• Two additional forms of ID, e.g. utility bills, passport, council tax bill etc must be shown.
• Drivers must be over 21 years old, 25 years old for 7.5 tonne and minibuses.
• You must have passed your test for at least two years for insurance purposes.
OVERHEAD DAMAGE
Any body damage above cab height on all 3.5 ton and 7.5 ton vehicles is the responsibility
of the hirer. The damage deposit does not cover this. This will be charged for seperately.
PLEASE NOTE
Hirers of 7.5 ton vehicles should be in possession of an operators licence when using
vehicles for business use.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
Attention all hirers if you want an additional driver on your vehicle rental.
There is an additional cost of £10 for each extra driver per day.
RE FUELLING CHARGES
Charges are £1.50p per litre + VAT
Please refuel the vehicle to the level of fuel in the tank at the time your hire started or there will be a refuelling charge of £10.00 plus the cost of the fuel.
The fuel level is indicated on your check sheet.
Strictly NO refunds will be given for returning the vehicle with more fuel than collected.
Valeting
Vehicles should be returned to the depot in the same condition as they were hired.Vehicles which require servicing to remove debris, excessive spillage or dirt will incurr a £50 fee.
DVLA check – £5
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES
Must any vehicle be left outside these premises.
All vehicles must be returned in business hours, which are:
Monday - Friday: 08:00-18:00, Saturday: 08:00-17:00, Sunday 09:00-12:00 & 16:30-18:00
24 HOUR HIRE
Vehicles are to be collected at 08:30 or 17:30.
Anybody collecting a vehicle after these times will be charged at the daily rate.
ATTENTION ALL HIRERS IF YOU ARE HIRING FOR MORE THAN ONE DAY
Please note that once you have booked and paid for your hire, we are unable to issue refunds for
any vehicle brought back before its 'due back date'. This is due to the fact that when we book
a vehicle to you for the period you ask for, we are unable to take bookings for that date.
Deposits
No deposit taken, but insurance excess form to be signed authorising us to take payment against any damage arising.
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER
The insurance excess and your deposit
£500 – The insurance excess for cars, minibusses and 7.5 ton vehicles.
£300 - The excess for all vans hired up to 3.5 ton
If collision damage waiver (CDW) is taken out the excess is reduced by 50%.
The cost of Collision Damage Waiver:
£20 – For each period of 24 hours.
INSURANCE
When using our insurance the deposit/waiver does not cover you against windscreen,
interior, tyre and overhead damage.
Credit Card Payment.
Only Processed on the day of collection. Please not the full amount will be charged if the booking
is not cancelled prior to 24hours before the collection time.
VEHICLES CAN ONLY BE TAKEN ABROAD BY PREVIOUS ARRANGEMENT
STRICTLY NO VEHICLES CAN BE RETURNED OR LEFT OUTSIDE OUR PREMISES OUTSIDE WORKING HOURS.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN PENALTY CHARGES
Howard Self Drive Hire Ltd reserves the right to amend prices and reserve the right to refuse hire.
In addition the following standard terms and conditions apply and will be on the agreement you will sign on collection of the vehicle.
